When Less Is More
When it comes to creating lasting change within our lives, less is more. Integrating smaller steps, and practising them consistently, is more effective than taking larger steps inconsistently. For example, for my clients that wish to become more active, lose weight and feel better about themselves, I would rather see them commit to their workouts three days per week for three months than 5 days per week for two weeks, one day per week the following two weeks. So often, when charged with emotion people over commit to action plans that are unrealistic or unsustainable for them in the long run. This leads to an “on the wagon” and “off the wagon” approach and mindset. Consistently taking smaller, congruent action steps towards your goals will always produce longer lasting results.
