Beware of the Emotional Pendulum



When it comes to weight loss, relationships or any area that we are attempting to transform, we usually begin with wonderful intentions. But when life happens and the going gets tough, we allow our negative emotions to take us off course and away from what we really want. Our behaviour tends to swing with our emotions. We need to learn to recognize the pendulum of emotion within ourselves before we get carried away with behaviours that do not serve us. There will always be movement in our emotional state, but practicing awareness and acceptance can help us from swinging too far one way. Success will never be a linear process but as often as possible, our efforts must be.
