Stress in not just in our minds, it is in our nervous systems. One of the most powerful ways to calm ourselves down is to slow down and focus on our breath. If you notice physical or emotional symptoms of stress such as a pounding heart or racing thoughts, take a moment to pause and reconnect to your breath. Close your eyes if possible and start to increase the length of your inhale. Match your inhale with your exhale. Allow the process of slowing down and connecting to your breath, to give you the experience of bringing you back into your power and the present moment.
