MYSORE PRATICE (Ashtanga Yoga)

Jan Goranson will be teaching early Mysore at the

Yoga Shala Calgary

www.yogashalacalgary.com

Mysore is the traditional way of learning Ashtanga yoga, named after the city in India where Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the guru of Ashtanga Yoga, lived and taught, and now his grandson R. Sharath, and daughter Saraswathi continue his teachings at the Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI).

Mysore is open to all levels, from absolute beginners to more experienced students.  In the Mysore format the class is NOT led, all instruction is given on an individual basis having the student practice at their own pace.  As you gain strength, stamina, flexibility and focus, postures will be added on to your sequence.

Full and New Moon days are observed as rest days:  NO class scheduled.

For those wondering what the Mysore practice is all about and looks like, I have been blessed to share the following video from Fiona Stang at Ashtanga Yoga Vancouver!  ❤️
